7 Charities will Benefit in the 7x7x7 Challenge

On The Summit of Mont Blanc

Charity Benefits

Many charities have benefited from the various challenges Jason has attempted and completed. Way back since the late 90’s fundraising for The Downs Syndrome Association, The (PDSA) Pet Dispensary for Sick Animals, The Brittle Bone Society, The Teresa Fund, The MPS Muchopolysaccharide Society and over recent years The Weston Hospicecare.

In May 2014 Jason is taking on one of the toughest Challenges yet, attempting to run 7 consecutive marathons in 7 days. The marathons will be run across the whole of Somerset with 7 local charities that will benefit having a marathon dedicated to each for fundraising and sponsorship.

Over the past few months a voting poll has been running on the social website Facebook, inviting friends and family to vote for their favourite charities that they would like Jason to run for. Jason has some charities extremely close to his heart with family or friends being associated or having been effected in some way.

Three charities have already been chosen, two by Jason himself, The Weston Hospicecare and The Muchopolysaccharide Society (MPS) and the other by the lucky Paul Childs who was the 100th person to Like the 7 Marathons in 7 Days event page. Paul chose the Alzheimers Society after a close family loss.

Therefore as this website is published we await the results from the voting poll to complete all 7 charities. Good Luck to all those listed.

Results are in and we are delighted to announce the 7 Charities that are to benefit from the 7 Marathons in 7 Days. Jason and his team of runners wish they could run for many more charities and all that were listed however the voting results stand.

Charity Results

The 4 most voted Charities above are the R.N.L.I Weston, The Lullaby Trust, The Motor Neurone Disease Association (MND) and The Children’s Hospice South West. Jason had already announced the 2 Charities he wanted to run for which were The Weston Hospicecare and The Society for Mucopolysaccharide Diseases (the MPS Society). The 7th Charity was chosen by the 100th person who liked the event page on Facebook.

There are some runners who are raising funds for their own charities which include Macmillan Cancer and “Team Bones” for Bone Cancer. (David Elliott & Rachel Smith)

There will be separate sponsorship pages for these charities and links can be found in the runners challengers profile pages.
